Worth Valley Young Farmers women’s football team enjoyed a fantastic day at the national ladies five-a-side tournament in Warwick.
Two wins, two draws and just a single defeat were enough to earn the local side an overall third place finish.
A last-minute goal condemned Worth Valley to defeat in their opening match against Worcestershire but they recovered to draw 0-0 in their next match.
A goal from one of the Ogdens earned a 1-0 win over Cornwall and the Keighley side built on that to end Devon’s 100 per cent record with a 1-1 draw thanks to a stunning strike from Laura Moore.
The final match brought another single-goal victory, this time over Cumbria, thanks to a penalty from Moore.
The Worth Valley team was Sarah Shires (captain), Laura Moore, Vicky Hardy, Daisy Hammond, Sophie Ogden and Hollie Ogden.
