Bronte miss out on cheeky calendar date

Bronte Wanderers proved too slow to get their tackles on show.
Members of the Haworth-based team asked to be part of the Haworth Couldn’t Wear Less calendar shoot but all the slots for the naked shoot had already been taken by other village organisations so their blushes were saved.
In 2011 an appeal was launched to raise £1.25 million for vital repairs and restoration work to the church of St Michael and All Angels at the top of Haworth Main Street.
The church is better known as the place where the Rev Patrick Bronte was the curate during the period when his daughters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne, wrote their literary masterpieces inspired by Haworth and the surrounding area.
Following in the footsteps of the ladies of the Rylstone Women’s Institute, residents of Haworth and the Worth Valley bared all to produce two calendars, one featuring only women and the other just men, to try to raise as much money as possible to for the restoration fund.
Copies are available throughout the district – without the football volunteers! They are £6 each or £10 the pair.
Buy your copies in Haworth Main Street at:
the Tourist Information Centre,
Firths Boutique,
Daisy Days,

In Keighley, the calendar is available at Keighley Town Hall, and in Bingley at the Council Shop.
If you would like to sell the calendar at your shop, pub, church, B&B or place of work, get in touch with the organisers and they will make every effort to get the calendars to you.

  1. Thanks for the support. Much appreciated. Would like to add that the money raised will be shared with Bronte Spirit, the Bronte Schoolroom Development Project. Also any money raised before the end of December will be match funded. We are on Twitter @HaworthCalendar and now Facebook – Haworth Couldn’t Wear Less. Regards All at HCWL
