Silsden fire another blank

Silsden 0 Colne 2
Silsden’s goal drought continued this afternoon.
Two second-half goals condemned the Cobbydalers to a North West Counties League derby defeat at The Asda Foundation Stadium.
More worryingly, it means that Joe Gaughan’s 27th-minute strike in a 1-1 draw at St Helens on November 26 is the only time Silsden have found the net in almost eight-and-a-quarter hours of football.
Silsden held the upper hand in the first half but former Cobbydalers goalkeeper Chris Thompson was in top form and kept out efforts from Gaughan and Andy Lee.
Mark Coyne opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half and the visitors secured the points when Mark Threlfall headed in the second in the closing stages.
