Steeton started like a house on fire with new signing Joe Kershaw prompting them on their way to a stunning West Riding County League success.
Adam Spencer struck a treble with a brace apiece for Ben McCormack and Will Lee. Stevie Lee and Andy Foster were also on the scoresheet.
A delighted manager Clark O’Dwyer said: “It’s the best start we’ve had this season and we totally battered them in the first half.
“We were 7-1 up at half-time but it was a different game in the second half as Tyersal tightened things up.
“But we battled well and scored two more. It was a good game all round.
“Ginner Kershaw was brilliant. He ran the show and kept pushing us forward.”
