Reserves are going up in the world

Oxenhope Rec Res 5
Otley Town Res 0

Oxenhope Reserves are celebrating promotion at the first time of asking.
A hat-trick from Liam Dyson and goals from Chris Day and Sean Quinlan put them within a point of glory.
The West Yorkshire League new boys are six points clear of second-placed Barwick in Alliance Division Two from a game more but with a goal difference of 14 better.
To clinch the title, they need to win their final match, at home to Howden Clough, and hope third-placed Fields do not win one of their remaining games – which includes one against Barwick.
Oxenhope got off to the perfect start when Dyson latched on to a loose ball and hit an unstoppable 25 yards drive into the top corner after just five minutes to settle any nerves.
Soon after, Michael Donohoe beat his marker and crossed for Day to flick home a neat finish.
Day then turned provider when his long-range pass found Quinlan, who turned his marker and looked to cross but bent his shot into the net.
Donohoe caused Otley problems all afternoon and his cross to the far post found Day, who produced an acrobatic overhead kick back across goal for Dyson to stab home.
Oxenhope continued to create chances all through the second half but could add only one further goal.
Day got in a tangle with the keeper and the ball broke kindly to Dyson to complete his hat-trick.
