Stand by for a frenzy

Keighley Campus of Leeds City College have stepped in to back a children’s holiday football programme in the town.
Football Frenzy attracts about 25 kids aged five to 13 per hour session on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Keighley Leisure Centre.
Youngsters hone their skills, while taking part in fun and competitive competitions.
Centre leisure attendant Chris Watson took his level two sport course at the college and went back to them seeking sponsorship.
Leisure Centre Manager Steve Kirby, initially set up the Football Frenzy in 1997 and is delighted that Chris has taken over the management of the scheme and secured the sponsorship deal.
He said: “Chris is a credit to the college. He initially came to the centre on work experience and his motivation and passion for sport really shone through.
“He is a hard working and positive person and his work on the Football Frenzy Programme has been a great asset to the Leisure Centre. We are delighted to have Leeds City College on board and their sponsorship will provide fantastic prizes for lots of children from across the Aire Valley.”
Sessions are £1.75 per child. For more information, contact the leisure centre, 01535 681763.
