Marley ready for grand event

Almost 1,000 players in 140 teams will be descending on Marley Stadium from Monday.
The annual Bradford Council sport and leisure service schools five-a-side festival, backed by My Lahore Cafe Bar, has been running for 16 years and will be played over three evenings, from 4pm to 7pm.
The council’s assistant director for sport and leisure Phil Barker said: “Primary and secondary school pupils from all over the district will be taking part in this popular festival and I hope friends and relatives will go along and give them some support.
“It is important that young people are provided with enjoyable opportunities to take part in physical activity and sport, which is the message we are pushing home through our B-active campaign. Be active, be healthy and have fun.”
The festival has six age categories and all players will receive a certificate.
