Robert Matthews and Luke Newton were on target as Craven League Premier Division side Crosshills got their pre-season campaign off the ground with victory over their West Riding County Amateur League neighbours.
Corey Speed scored for a young Chevrons team, who fielded a mixture of reserve team and u18 players.
Steeton manager Clark O’Dwyer said: “We gave them a good game, considering most of our players were under 20.
“Our future is bright as we plan to keep developing the young lads coming through.”
