Silsden Academy complete double over Ossett Town

Ossett Town 2 Silsden Academy 4
Following their seven-nil mauling at the hands of Emley the Silsden Academy outfit bounced back to complete the double over Ossett Town last Thursday.
The Cobbydalers were boosted by a goal from David Want in the opening minute and from that point they dominated both possession and territory in the opening half where the runs of Josh McNulty were proving a real threat. The Cobbydalers went further ahead early in the second half when McNulty pushed the ball down the left to Metcalfe who crossed for Ollie Peacock to slot the ball home.
Silsden looked comfortable at two-nil but complacency set in allowing Town to net two goals in a five minute spell, the first from a breakaway and the second when Want tripped an opponent in the box, Town converting the penalty. Brad Fay, on for Sowerby, then saw his goal-bound shot halted by a defender’s hand and Littlewood put the Cobbydalers back in the lead with a coolly-taken spot kick.
Finally Ben Cox ran from deep to head home a deep cross from McNulty to settle the affair.
SILSDEN Mahomet, Condsolli(Narey 60), Want, Farooq, Sellars, Cryer(Cox 70), Littlewood, Peacock, Sowerby(Fay 43), Metcalfe, McNulty.
