Silsden’s first home game of the season brought them a deluge of goals with Lewis Gartland and Jaylan Camsey netting four apiece and Harry Whitaker grabbing a hat-trick.
The Dragons started brightly, putting Campion on the back foot and with their first attack Gartland’s cross went over the goalie and into the far corner of the net for the opening goal.
The second was a great strike after Whitaker took players on down the wing and put in a cross for Camsey to sweetly volley home.
A few minutes later Camsey returned the favour and put Whitaker away. With his left foot he tucked away the ball nicely to make it 3-0.
Silsden were totally on top as Campion found it hard to get out of their half and in another attack Daniel Barnes hit a post and Whitaker followed up to slot in the ball.
The Dragons were not letting up and, after the Campion goalie making a good save from Camsey, the ball fell nicely for Gartland to score again. Garlands wing play was too much for the Campion defence and his cross was put away by Camsey.
Sam Ayik came on and soon got in on the goals. He broke free, raced clear and, with a cool finish, made it 7-0.
Just before half time Ayik put Camsey away, who with a great strike from 15 yards out got his hat-trick.
The second half saw more of the same exciting play, even with Silsden allowing Campion to play with an extra player.
A good long-range strike from Camsey brought a fine save from the goalie but the ball popped up nicely for Gartland to head home for his hat-trick.
Silsden were finding it harder to break the defence down, but another cool finish by Ayik and a long range shot from Gartland saw the Dragons extend their lead
It was not all about the attacking play but an amazing whole team effort, with Sam Brockbank, Joshua Elliot, George Ellison and player of the match Lola Cunningham keeping another clean sheet and setting up attack after attack.
With the game drawing to a close, Camsey got his fourth and Daniel Barnes netted a sweetly struck shot.
The game was closed off with Whitaker getting his hat-trick with a nice finish.
To Campion’s credit they kept their heads high and never gave up trying to the end.
