A strong wind made no difference to Silsden as they chalked up a convincing win over their Keighley opponents.
Silsden kicked into the wind in the first half and after an exciting but even first 15 minutes, made a breakthough with a fine shot, which was parried to Jaylan Camsey, who finished it sweetly.
This seemed to fire up the Dragons and Harry Whitaker played a great through ball to Camsey who made no mistake.
Another of Silsden’s attacks saw Joe Armitage fire a great shot into the top right corner to finish the first half 3-0 ahead.
The second half saw the Dragons play some of their best football of the season and it wasn’t long before they were four up.
Long Lee Juniors logoSam Ayik played in Armitage and a sweet strike into the bottom corner was followed by more great play by Ayik and Ermitage from a short corner set up Lewis Gartland, who calmly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 5-0.
Long Lee eventually got the better of the outstanding Silsden back four of Lola Cunningham, Josh Elliot, Harry Whitaker and Sam Brockbank when the impressive Sohale hit a lovely shot into the bottom corner to reduce the gap to four goals.
The Dragons were far from done though, Gartland swung the ball in directly from a corner to add another and then Daniel Barnes laid the ball off to Armitage who hit a great strike into the top corner to complete his hat-trick in his debut game.
