Oxenhope’s second string went back to the top of the West Yorkshire League Alliance Division One table.
But they had to come from behind to secure another three valuable points.
The result was all the more surprising in that the team had six regulars absent from their previous line-up.
The home side started the brighter as Oxenhope struggled to find their feet on an extremely wet and slippery pitch.
Brighouse took the lead when their wide player got in behind the Oxenhope defence and squared the ball for an easy tap in.
Another attack saw defender Ben Manning clear at the far post as Brighouse’s long ball tactics created problems.
Manager Steve Davies changed to a 4-4-2 formation, which made an instant impact and just before the break Grez Robinson waltzed his way past two defenders, played the ball out to Tom Thompson and his cross was volleyed home by the on-rushing James Bailey.
After the break, Oxenhope pinned the home side back in their own half but chances went begging.
Leroy Hickman had a couple of chances when one-on-one and front man Tony Cooper gave the Brighouse defence all sorts of problems but could not find the target.
Robinson sliced a left footed effort just wide of a post.
On the hour, the pressure told when Bailey delivered a ball from deep, Scott out jumped his marker and his bullet header went past the keeper and in at the far post.
Scott was in fine form and as Brighouse pressed for an equaliser, he and skipper Liam Blacka were big and strong at the heart of the Oxenhope defence in keeping them at bay.
It was from another of Bailey’s assist that enabled Scott to score his second when an in-swinging corner was met with another firm header.
